What a missed opportunity this latest recording of “Le Nozze di Figaro” is. In each of the past three years, Deutsche Grammophon has released a live concert performance of a Mozart opera from Baden-Baden, Germany, with starry casts under the baton of the dynamic Canadian conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin. But what should have been a crown jewel of Nézet-Séguin’s Mozart cycle is undermined by lackluster performances in three of the four leading roles…
